Shooting Chicago Illinois in Chicago, Illinois: A 57-year-old Chicago Transit Authority switch worker was shot in the chest at 4:15 a.m. in the 9900 block of South State Street in Chicago's Roseland community, near a CTA train yard beneath an overpass where the Dan Ryan Expressway forks into the Bishop Ford Freeway. He was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition and later died at the hospital.
