Dui Crash Dwi-Related Texas in DWI-related, Texas: A Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputy was struck and killed by a commercial utility vehicle while assisting at a DWI-related crash scene on the northbound lanes of I-45 around 3:40 a.m. on Sunday. Deputy Erika Serrato, 24, died at the scene. A second deputy, John Hernandez, was struck by debris and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The commercial truck driver, 20-year-old Ian Perez, was charged with passing certain vehicles in violation of bodily injury for failing to slow down or move over for emergency vehicles. The driver of the initial crash, 34-year-old Ashton Jammer, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
