Semi Truck Crash North Carolina Today in North Carolina: Columbus County Sheriff's Deputy Damien Bost was killed in the line of duty on June 25 when a tractor-trailer struck his patrol car from behind, according to investigators. A Clarkton man was charged in the crash. Sheriff Bill Rogers said Deputy Bost had come to work during his time off to pick up extra hours. Funeral services were scheduled for June 29 at South Columbus High School.
