Colorado driver survives direct rockslide strike on Dolores…
Car Crash Colorado Today in Colorado: Mike Chavez, a Grand Junction real estate agent, was driving from Grand Junction to Nucla along the Dolores River corridor in western Colorado when a rockslide struck his truck directly. A boulder taller than his truck rolled across the pavement in front of him before the full slide hit his vehicle. Chavez remained conscious, moved his truck out of the active slide zone, and placed traffic cones to warn other drivers. Montrose County Sheriff's deputies, an ambulance crew, and CDOT personnel responded; paramedics cleared Chavez despite significant pain, and he later drove his damaged truck about 60 miles back to Grand Junction.
