Bicycle Crash Rural Kankakee Illinois in rural Kankakee, Illinois: A 29-year-old bicyclist, Bailey C. Caldwell of Bourbonnais, died after being struck by a passenger vehicle in rural Kankakee County on Monday morning. The Kankakee County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a bicycle at around 7:41 a.m. on 4000 East Road near 6000 North Road, east of Manteno. Deputies arrived and located the bicyclist unconscious in the roadway; the cyclist was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead. The Illinois State Police are conducting a comprehensive crash reconstruction, and additional details, including whether the driver stayed at the scene, have not been released.
