Boating Accident Fort Pierce Florida in Fort Pierce, Florida: Greer Boyd, 63, of Fort Pierce, died in a diving accident near the Fort Pierce Inlet on June 26, 2026. Boyd and friends had been fishing when the vessel's trolling motor became detached and fell overboard. After marking the location and returning to shore for diving equipment, Boyd entered the water alone to search for the motor and resurfaced 40 yards from the vessel. A civilian diver located Boyd at the bottom at a depth of 55 feet, and he was pronounced dead. The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office identified Boyd on June 29, 2026.
