Semi Truck Crash Kanawha West Virginia in Kanawha, West Virginia: A semi-truck veered from its lane on I-64 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, striking a dump truck and dragging it about 400 feet. The dump truck nearly catapulted over the median. The semi driver, Jeffrey Simons, 63, of Iowa, died in the crash. Kris Pelfrey, a passenger in the dump truck, escaped and tried to rescue Simons from the burning cab but could not rouse him. Pelfrey did manage to pull a dog from the burning tractor-trailer before police took the animal to a shelter.
