Vehicle Fire Buckner Missouri in Buckner, Missouri: The Missouri Division of Fire Safety reported that investigations into five fires across the state from July 3 to July 4 indicate fireworks were involved, resulting in three deaths and multiple serious injuries. In Buckner, a fire at a residence on North Lake City Valley Road killed a 13-year-old girl and a second person, with at least one other hospitalized; the fire originated on the covered back deck and consumer-grade fireworks used the night before could not be eliminated as the cause. In Hannibal, a fire at 923 Center Street caused heavy damage to a four-unit structure after consumer-grade fireworks ignited a blaze in the backyard. A juvenile female also sustained serious injuries in a separate explosion under investigation. State Fire Marshal Tim Bean urged Missourians to exercise extreme caution with remaining consumer fireworks.
