Vehicle Fire Hospital Firefighters Colorado in hospital firefighters, Colorado: Three federal wildland firefighters were killed and two others were injured on Saturday while battling the Knowles and Gore fires near the Colorado-Utah border in western Colorado. Five members of the crew became trapped in a burnover and deployed emergency fire shelters, according to the U.S. Department of the Interior. Three firefighters did not survive, while the two injured crew members suffered burn injuries and are being treated at a hospital. The firefighters were assigned to the U.S. Wildland Fire Service / U.S. Forest Service interagency response.
