Pedestrian Hit South Carolina Today in South Carolina: A 19-year-old utility worker was killed and another utility worker was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in a work zone at the intersection of Rutland Drive and U.S. 1/Northland Boulevard in Aiken, South Carolina, at about 5:30 a.m. on Friday. The vehicle was traveling west on Rutland Drive when it struck the two pedestrians. The teen died at the scene from blunt force trauma, while the other worker was transported to WellStar MCG Health hospital in Augusta, Georgia. A 39-year-old Aiken resident was arrested and charged with hit-and-run causing death and hit-and-run causing great bodily injury.
