Aircraft California Today in California: A single-engine airplane made an emergency crash landing in a Ventura County riverbed east of the Santa Paula airport around 1 p.m. on Saturday. The pilot, the only person aboard, self-extricated from the wreckage and was flown by helicopter to the Santa Paula Airport, then transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the crash. Photos show broken wheels and skidmarks in the dry riverbed.
