The call was received at 5:54 p.m. on June 28 through the vehicle's telematics alert, reporting a sedan with two occupants that struck a telephone pole, with airbags deployed and the vehicle reportedly on fire. Responders found the occupants had moved to a safe location; no major injuries were reported and one occupant signed a refusal of treatment. Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative was called to assess powerlines touching smoking trees and damage to the telephone pole.
