Car Crash Initial Texas in initial, Texas: A Montgomery County sheriff's deputy was killed early Sunday morning on northbound I-45 in a series of crashes. While deputies were working an initial multi-vehicle collision around 2:39 a.m., a commercial truck pulling a trailer struck Deputy Erika Serrato, 24, who was directing traffic, along with two marked patrol vehicles with emergency lights activated. Serrato was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries. Another deputy was struck by debris and treated for minor injuries. One of the drivers involved in the initial crash, 34-year-old Ashton Jammer, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and held in the Montgomery County Jail. The commercial truck driver was taken to a local hospital and the crash remains under investigation.
