Car Crash Rayford Texas in Rayford, Texas: A Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputy was killed and another was injured after being struck by a vehicle while directing traffic at a multi-vehicle crash scene on the North Freeway (I-45 North) near Lake Woodlands. The original crash occurred at 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, and less than 30 minutes later deputies responding to the scene were hit by another vehicle. At least five vehicles, including a heavily damaged deputy car, remained at the scene, with northbound traffic diverted at Rayford Road and at least one southbound lane blocked. The injured deputy is expected to be OK, and authorities have not yet released what caused the original crash or if there were other injuries.
