Car Crash Montgomery Texas in Montgomery, Texas: A Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputy, 24-year-old Erika Serrato, was killed and another deputy, John Hernandez, was injured after they were struck by a vehicle while responding to a multi-vehicle crash on I-45 North near Lake Woodlands in Montgomery County, Texas. The original crash occurred at 2:40 a.m., and investigators identified one of the drivers in that initial crash as 34-year-old Ashton Jammer, who was charged with driving while intoxicated. Less than 30 minutes after the first crash, the deputies at the scene were struck by a different vehicle; Serrato was hit by a heavy commercial vehicle and later died at the hospital, while the driver of that vehicle was rushed to a local hospital.
