Car Crash Marked Tree Arkansas in Marked Tree, Arkansas: A Marked Tree police officer was killed and another officer was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 2:40 a.m. Sunday at the corner of Arkansas 14 and Broadway in Marked Tree, according to Arkansas State Police. Officer Trevor Howard, 25, was a passenger in a 2023 Dodge patrol vehicle driven by fellow officer Anthony Johnson, 22, when a 1996 Mercury driven by Karrem Jones, 28, ran a stop sign and struck the passenger side of the patrol car, causing it to overturn. Howard was pronounced dead at the scene; Johnson was taken to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro with non-life-threatening injuries, and Jones was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis with serious injuries. Police are still investigating.
