Pedestrian Hit Colorado Today in Colorado: Colorado State Patrol troopers responded around 3:45 p.m. to a crash on U.S. 36 westbound toward Boulder. A Mercury Mountaineer SUV broke down in the center lane, and pedestrians walked toward it on both shoulders. As pedestrians crossed, a westbound Honda CR-V in the same lane attempted to avoid the broken-down vehicle, lost control, swerved into the shoulder, and struck a man who was hospitalized with unknown injuries. CDOT closed the highway between 170 and Cherryvale Road at mile marker 41 and directed motorists to use McCaslin Road to South Boulder or Marshall Road.
