Pedestrian Hit Florida Today in Florida: Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the driver of an older-model white pickup truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run. About 2 a.m. Sunday, the truck was traveling south on U.S. 27 in Hendry County when it struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the roadway, then fled the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers believe the vehicle may be a white 1999 Ford Ranger pickup with Florida tag 57G-DPV, a toolbox in the bed, and damage to the left front headlamp assembly.
