Pedestrian Hit Atlanta Georgia in Atlanta, Georgia: A 28-year-old driver struck and killed a female pedestrian in downtown Atlanta early Sunday morning, shortly before 3 a.m. The pedestrian was crossing Courtland Street NE near the crosswalk when a southbound Jeep Wrangler hit her in the road; medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene. The driver, identified as Marie Bahindwa, remained on the scene and was charged with homicide by vehicle, DUI, DUI-less safe, reckless driving, and open container violation.
