Car Crash Colorado Today in Colorado: Mike Chavez of Grand Junction drove into a rockslide on a highway near Calamity Mesa in western Colorado on Tuesday. A boulder taller than his truck bounced across the highway and dropped off the shoulder toward the Dolores River, and other boulders struck the passenger side of his pickup, deploying the airbags and pushing the truck into the other lane. Chavez maneuvered the vehicle to the shoulder and walked away; the Colorado State Patrol closed the highway for several hours. Days later, Chavez reported his back was still sore and his truck was under repair.
