Assault Cambridge Maryland in Cambridge, Maryland: A 35-year-old Cambridge man, Alberto Pacheco Santana Jr., is facing multiple felony charges after police say he assaulted a woman at a residence in the 600 block of School House Lane, barricaded himself inside the home, and surrendered peacefully following a roughly two-hour standoff Sunday morning. According to the Cambridge Police Department, the woman reported being assaulted around 5:42 a.m. Sunday after Santana allegedly entered the home, repeatedly struck her, and strangled her; a juvenile inside the residence intervened, allowing the victim to escape with the juveniles to a vehicle. Santana then blocked the vehicle's door and slammed it with enough force to deploy the airbag, causing additional injuries, before the woman drove away and reported the incident. She was treated at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester. Santana surrendered without incident at approximately 7:46 a.m. and is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and obstructing and hindering.
