Car Crash Port St Lucie Florida in Port St Lucie, Florida: A 78-year-old woman from Port St. Lucie was killed Sunday morning when a parked Lincoln MKX rolled backward in the driveway of her home on SE El Sito Court. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman's 59-year-old son started the vehicle by reaching over the center console to press the brake pedal and push the start button. The SUV began rolling backward for reasons still under investigation, and the open driver's door struck the woman, knocking her to the ground. She was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute, where she was pronounced dead at 11:19 a.m. The son had not been charged as of the report.
