Pedestrian Hit Florida Today in Florida: A 21-year-old pedestrian was killed late Saturday night after stepping into the path of an oncoming vehicle on Gatlin Avenue in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. An 18-year-old Orlando driver was traveling west on Gatlin Avenue around 10:40 p.m. on June 27 when the pedestrian, who was not in a marked crosswalk, walked from the south shoulder toward the north shoulder and into the driver's path. The pedestrian died at the scene. The driver was not injured and remained at the scene. The crash occurred at the intersection of Gatlin Avenue and Evander Drive and remains under investigation.
