Shooting Wilmington Delaware in Wilmington, Delaware: On June 28 2026, Wilmington, Delaware police officers patrolling the area of 24th and Jessup Streets reported seeing 19-year-old Kadir Skinner come out of a home carrying a gun pointed toward a crowd. Police said Skinner ran away and an officer shot him. Family members and witnesses dispute the police account, alleging Skinner was unarmed, was running from a dog, and was shot in the back three times; they also say he was handcuffed and placed in a police car rather than an ambulance. The Wilmington Police chief declined to comment, and the family is seeking body camera footage.
