Shooting Detroit Michigan in Detroit, Michigan: Detroit police were involved in three officer-involved shootings over a 30-day period, prompting investigations. The most recent occurred when officers executed a search warrant at a home on Rosemont, just south of Seven Mile, on Detroit's west side; police say the man inside began firing at officers, who returned fire and killed him. In a second incident just before the Ford Fireworks, officers saw a man armed with an assault-style rifle alongside another man carrying a handgun; officers opened fire on the man who ran, critically injuring him. On May 27, officers executing a search warrant near Moross and Lansdowne on Detroit's east side escorted a woman and children from a home before an armed man locked in a bedroom opened fire; an officer discharged a weapon once, but the man ultimately died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Michigan State Police are investigating all three shootings.
