Pedestrian Hit Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Detectives with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian crash that occurred late Thursday night in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood. First responders were called to the area of Bennett and Oakwood streets around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday for reports of a pedestrian crash. A man was struck by an SUV whose driver stayed at the scene and was highly cooperative; after that driver exited his SUV to check on the pedestrian, a second vehicle — described as a gray Toyota Prius — struck the man. The Prius driver did not remain at the scene, briefly stopped on a side street for under two minutes, then fled. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and had not yet been identified. The bureau's Collision Investigation Unit is processing evidence including area camera footage.
