Car Crash Orlando Florida in Orlando, Florida: A 92-year-old woman, Milagros "Millie" Ortiz, was killed when an Orlando police SUV driven by Officer Andrew McKuhen struck the Jeep in which she was a front-seat passenger at the intersection of Hoffner Avenue and South Semoran Boulevard around 2 a.m. The officer had waited at a red light, activated the SUV's emergency flashing lights, and proceeded through the intersection when the lights went dark at about 32 mph, plowing into the driver's side of the Jeep which had a green light. Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith said the 2019 Ford Explorer had repeated failures with its emergency lights, including just before the crash, and the department's Traffic Homicide Unit concluded there was insufficient evidence to support criminal charges against the officer.
