Vehicle Fire Eugene Oregon in Eugene, Oregon: A fatal house fire broke out late Thursday night in a two-story fourplex in Eugene's Churchill neighborhood after Central Lane 911 received calls just before 11 p.m. on June 25 reporting flames in the 2500 block of Brittania Place. Firefighters from Engine 10 at the Bailey Hill station arrived to find heavy fire coming from one unit and called a second alarm due to difficult conditions and people trapped inside. One person died and another was seriously injured, while residents of the other units escaped safely with no other injuries reported; firefighters contained the main fire to the original unit but also extinguished flames that reached a neighboring unit's attic.
