Car Crash Blue Island Illinois in Blue Island, Illinois: A deadly crash involving an Illinois Department of Transportation vehicle impacted northbound Interstate 57 traffic in Blue Island on Saturday morning around 4:45 a.m., Illinois State Police said. Investigators believe a passenger vehicle and an IDOT SUV were involved in a crash and pulled over to the left shoulder near 127th Street, where another vehicle struck them. One person, identified as Jocilyn Buckley, 27, of Oak Lawn, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. An IDOT worker was injured and hospitalized. Two northbound lanes were closed during the accident reconstruction investigation before all lanes reopened around 9:30 a.m.
