Assault Florida Today in Florida: Leisnier Mauri Garcia, 40, was arrested on Thursday, June 25, 2026, and charged with attempted felony murder with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend 34 times. According to an arrest affidavit, the couple had argued after she received a text from the father of her child and told Garcia she wanted to end their relationship. Garcia allegedly produced a knife from the back seat of the car and stabbed her multiple times from behind as she tried to escape. Garcia is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County.
