Shooting Columbus Georgia in Columbus, Georgia: Alexis Hill, a 44-year-old Dollar General store manager in Columbus, Georgia, was shot and killed shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday while helping a customer buy hamburger buns priced at $1.58. Emergency responders arrived at the store, but Hill died from her injuries and was pronounced dead at about 10:45 a.m. by the Muscogee County Coroner. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Jerome Willis, was later tracked to an area near Baker Plaza Drive, where he opened fire on responding officers, wounding one officer and a police K-9 named Havoc, before being killed by officers' return fire. A GoFundMe campaign was created to support Hill's family following her death.
