Drowning Wisconsin Today in Wisconsin: A 72-year-old Wisconsin man appears to have drowned in an Adams County lake after attempting to rescue an injured eagle. The man had been fishing near a boat launch, spotted the injured eagle in the water, and contacted the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and a raptor rescue facility, both of which said they would respond the next morning. He returned home, told a family member he was going to rescue the eagle, and his body was later found in the water with a large fishing net and eagle feathers nearby. Investigators determined he became stuck in underwater debris just offshore and drowned.
