Shooting New York City New York in New York City, New York: A 63-year-old woman was shot in the leg outside her apartment in the Bronx after taking out her garbage. The shooting occurred around 9:01 a.m. on the first floor near E. 197th St. and Briggs Ave. in Bedford Park. An apparent gunshot hole was visible in the victim's door. EMS transported the victim to a hospital. Police sources said investigators believe the gunman shot the woman in retaliation for something her son did; the son was not home at the time.
