Shooting West Virginia Today in West Virginia: On May 24, 2026, at approximately 1:17 p.m., West Virginia State Police responded to a reported shooting in Wyoming County, WV. According to investigators, Christopher Lee York went to a victim's residence to confront him about an alleged debt, and the confrontation escalated when York allegedly fired several rounds from a 9mm handgun into the victim's vehicle. Troopers recovered three spent 9mm shell casings at the scene, and York had fled the area in a maroon SUV before troopers arrived.
