Shooting Norfolk Virginia in Norfolk, Virginia: On Father's Day around 3:40 p.m., a Norfolk police officer responding to a 911 call about a man who accidentally shot himself in a third-floor apartment mistakenly entered Alizana Cummings' apartment (unit 102) and fatally shot her 3-year-old dog, Stormi Blu. The officer discharged his weapon one time in the direction of the animal as it was approaching, according to a Norfolk police spokesperson. The officer was placed on administrative duty while Norfolk police internally investigate the incident.
