White Sands seeks visitor who handled dead bat
Car Crash New Mexico Today in New Mexico: A teenage visitor picked up a dead bat with bare hands at White Sands National Park and brought it into the park visitor center at about 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, June 18. The visitor and an accompanying adult told park staff the bat was already dead when they picked it up. Park officials are trying to contact the visitor to recommend they consult a medical provider or local health department about possible rabies exposure and post-exposure treatment.
