Wellesley man allegedly stabbed father 20 times in daytime…

Assault Wellesley Massachusetts in Wellesley, Massachusetts: James Floyd Bennett III, 24, of Wellesley, allegedly stabbed his father, 58-year-old Jamey Bennett, approximately 20 times at Phillips Park on Maugus Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. Witnesses told police the two had been playing soccer and talking about the World Cup when Bennett suddenly attacked his father with a knife. The victim was rushed to Newton-Wellesley Hospital where he died from his injuries. Bennett then walked to the police station and admitted to the stabbing, and was ordered held without bail after pleading not guilty to first-degree murder at his arraignment in Dedham District Court.
