Report on accident involving Parkersburg mayor released
Car Crash Parkersburg West Virginia in Parkersburg, West Virginia: An accident report filed by the Parkersburg Police Department says Mayor Tom Joyce opened the door of a city-owned 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe into traffic while parked at an intersection, and it was struck by a passing 2020 Nissan Altima driven by Waverly resident Ashlee Coleman on June 16. Joyce said he was heading to lunch at the 19th Street Country Club at 19th and Latrobe streets in the city-owned vehicle assigned to the mayor's office when the accident occurred. Joyce submitted to a drug test, which is standard policy for accidents involving municipal vehicles. The other driver, Coleman, was listed in 'apparently normal' condition with no suspected alcohol or drug use.
