Car Crash Florida Today in Florida: An Ocala man was arrested in connection with a deadly crash in Marion County, Florida. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, De'Shawn Vonkei Williams, 18, was driving a 2021 Infiniti Q50 north on Pine Road at approximately 90 mph in a posted 30 mph zone when a 2017 Hyundai Elantra traveling west on Hemlock Road entered the intersection, causing the two vehicles to collide. The impact sent the Infiniti off the roadway into a utility pole and metal fence, while the Hyundai rotated onto the shoulder and ejected its driver. The front-seat passenger in the Hyundai, a 48-year-old Ocala woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 38-year-old driver (her husband) suffered critical injuries and remained hospitalized in critical condition as of June 26. Williams and his 21-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries, and Williams was charged with one count of vehicular homicide and six counts of reckless driving.
