Pedestrian Hit Newark New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey: A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian and critically injured another in Newark early Friday morning around 4:30 a.m. on the 100-block of Empire Street, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. One of the pedestrians was pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims were not immediately available.
