Dui Crash Bismarck North Dakota in Bismarck, North Dakota: A North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper narrowly escaped serious injury late Thursday when his squad car was struck during a traffic stop in Bismarck. The trooper had pulled over a vehicle and was starting to open his driver's side door when an approaching vehicle failed to move over and struck the door. The trooper and the other driver were not hurt. The driver of the striking vehicle was arrested at the scene by the Bismarck Police Department; investigators say the driver had a breath alcohol concentration of 0.201, admitted to texting at the time of the crash, and faces charges of driving under the influence, open container, failure to maintain lane, and no insurance. The Highway Patrol said this is the third time in three years the same trooper has had his patrol vehicle hit by an impaired driver in the Bismarck area.
