Dui Crash Westville Indiana in Westville, Indiana: David Dean Smyth-Stevens, 37, of LaPorte, was charged in LaPorte Circuit Court after police allege he crashed his Chrysler Town & Country into a roundabout while driving intoxicated with his 4-year-old daughter in the vehicle. Westville Police were dispatched at approximately 10:44 p.m. on June 25 to the roundabout at U.S. Highway 6 and State Road 2 after a report that a vehicle had driven over the roundabout and was leaking fluid. Officers found the heavily damaged vehicle stopped in the middle of the roundabout with deployed airbags; Smyth-Stevens had blood on his face, hands, arms and legs, was unsteady, had glossy eyes, and emitted the odor of alcohol. A portable breath test registered a blood alcohol concentration of 0.279%, and he faces multiple charges including operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction and endangering a person.
