Officials said they responded to a house fire in the area of 1700 SE Oak Street in Hillsboro around 1:43 p.m., and smoke and fire conditions were coming from the second floor. Both people received immediate care from paramedics and sustained life-threatening injuries. Hillsboro Fire & Rescue said the cause of the fire is unknown and an investigation is ongoing.
