Vehicle Fire Jonesboro Georgia in Jonesboro, Georgia: On June 24, 2026, at approximately 1:52 p.m., Tyreak Delapierre, 26, was discovered unresponsive in the medical housing unit of the Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro, Georgia, with a torn bedsheet tied around his neck in what is believed to be an apparent suicide. Detention staff immediately removed the bedsheet and initiated CPR, and Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services arrived at approximately 2:01 p.m. to provide advanced lifesaving measures. Delapierre had been taken into custody the previous day, June 24, 2026, following a foot pursuit related to a stabbing investigation on the 2400 block of Summercourt Drive. The Clayton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death.
