Fish and Game: Injured hiker rescued from Valley Way Trail
Fall Injury Randolph New Hampshire in Randolph, New Hampshire: New Hampshire Fish and Game said an injured hiker was rescued on the Valley Way Trail in Randolph on Thursday afternoon after slipping and falling and seriously hurting his leg. The accident occurred around 2:45 p.m., roughly 1.6 miles up from the Appalachian Trail parking lot. Conservation Officers and volunteers from Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue hiked up the trail, applied a vacuum splint to the hiker's leg, and carried him in a litter down to the parking lot by 7 p.m. The hiker, identified as Bell of Weston, Massachusetts, was then taken to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin for treatment.
