Fire forces evacuation at Lawton apartment complex
Vehicle Fire Lawton Oklahoma in Lawton, Oklahoma: An overnight fire at Sheridan Square Apartments in Lawton, Oklahoma forced residents to evacuate early Friday morning. Firefighters responded just after 1:30 a.m. to building 2200 of the complex and contained the blaze to the unit where it started. Officials said the fire was caused by a cooking incident, causing heavy damage to the apartment of origin and smoke damage to all eight apartments in that section. Two dogs died in the fire and a firefighter suffered minor burns; a resident was sent to the hospital.
