Boating Accident Seward Alaska in Seward, Alaska: Royal Caribbean's 'Ovation of the Seas' cruise ship arrived in Seward, Alaska, on June 19, 2026, with a dead pregnant 61-foot fin whale on its bow. The endangered whale was freshly dead and in good nutritional condition, and was towed to a local beach for examination. Preliminary necropsy findings indicate the whale died after being struck by a vessel, and the cruise line confirmed one of its ships struck the whale en route to Seward and reported the incident to authorities.
