Motorcycle Crash Mission Texas in Mission, Texas: Apolonio Perez, of Mission, was riding a motorcycle on the expressway while evading Texas Department of Public Safety troopers in a chase that lasted over eight miles. He exited the expressway at Inspiration Road in Mission and drove into oncoming traffic, colliding with another motorcyclist on the westbound Frontage Road. The other rider, 23-year-old John Alonso, was pronounced dead at the scene. A toxicology report showed Perez had a blood alcohol concentration of.19, more than twice the legal limit. Perez was charged on June 15 with murder, intoxication manslaughter, and evading arrest, and a judge later denied a request to reduce his $3.25 million bond.
