17-year-old volunteer firefighter in ICU after head-on crash
Car Crash Ariel Washington in Ariel, Washington: A 17-year-old volunteer firefighter, Riggin Bliss, was driving southbound on Lewis River Road in Ariel, Washington, when another driver traveling northbound crossed into his lane and struck him head-on. Bliss was severely injured and remained in the ICU. The other driver, 76-year-old John Jessup of La Center, was also severely injured and was LifeFlighted to a local hospital. Jessup was charged with vehicular assault. Bliss's brother, another volunteer firefighter, responded to the crash and helped treat both victims.
