Car Crash Northborough Maryland in Northborough, Maryland: A wrong-way driver on Interstate 290 eastbound in Northborough crashed into another vehicle at approximately 8:57 p.m. on June 24, prior to Exit 27 (Solomon Pond Road), creating a fiery scene. One driver escaped and was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center with minor injuries, while the other driver could not be rescued and was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters from Northborough, Berlin, Marlborough, and Westborough worked 30 minutes and used 2,000 gallons of water to extinguish the vehicle fires. Interstate 290 eastbound was closed at the Church Street exit during the investigation and reopened at 1 a.m.
